With a height of 986 meters, Ba Den Mount - the highest mountain in southeastern Vietnam, is located in Tay Ninh. However, the topography of the whole province is pretty flat in general, an ultimate point that allows Tay Ninh to improve and adjust its agriculture projects. The climate in Tay Ninh is temperate with 2 different seasons: the dry season and the rainy season. The former starts from December to April while the later reigns during the period from May to November. As a result of its location in the mainland, Tay Ninh is hardly affected by storms or other natural disaster. The annual average temperature is 27.4oC and the annual average precipitation is 1800-2200 mm. Unlike the other provinces in the northern part of the country, Tay Ninh has only two big rivers: Sai Gon River and Vam Co Dong river, but canals are ubiquitous thorough the province.
Dau Tieng Lake
Dau Tieng Lake is a borderless body of water built by Tay Ninh people. With a total area of 27,000 ha and a total volume of 1.5 billion m3, the lake is not only capable of providing water for the province’s agriculture but it is also one of the most visited tourism sites in the country.
Dau Tieng Lake is located pretty far from the residential areas. The water there is clear and clean. On sunny days, the surface of the lake reflects the bluish and deep color of the sky. The Cau Sung Mountain embraces the Lake to create a beautiful picture of the nature. The many islets such as Xin Islet, Trang Islet, and Dong Bo Islet are the fundamental points that make the picture stand out. In addition, the Poem Hill standing beside the primitive forest that encircles the lake is also another beautiful aspect of the wonderful complex. Around the lake, there are freshly green prairies full of colorful wild flowers. The scenery is ornate even more by the bees and butterflies floating above the flowers whenever a wave makes it into the bank of the lake.
Ba Den (The Black Virgin Mountain)
The Ba Den Mountain is a part of Nui Ba Historical and Cultural Complex in Tay Ninh, Vietnam, which is famous for its artless scenery and mysterious tales. This is the highest mountain in the southeastern part of Vietnam. Located 11km to the Northeast of Tay Ninh City, Ba Den Mountain is 986m high; it is the symbol of the people and the land of Tay Ninh.
The Nui Ba Complex has a total area of 24 km2, with 3 mountains Nui Heo (Pig Mountain), Nui Phung (Phoenix Mountain), and Nui Ba Den (Black Virgin Mountain). Thorough the complex, there are a relatively big number of temples and pagodas, including Ha Temple, Trung Temple, Thuong Tempe, Cave Temple. There are also a lot of caves which were turned into small worshiping places by the monks such as Thanh Long Cave, Ong Ho Cave, Ba Co Cave, Ba Tuan Cave, etc. This incredible complex attracts many tourists every year because of its majestic natural scenery and beautiful temples. Among the three mountains of Nui Ba Complex, Ba Den Mountain is the most famous one because it is related to the myth about Ly Thi Thien Huong, the woman who is considered as the Black Virgin.
The Cao Dai Temple
Cao Daism is a religion combining Christianity, Buddhism, Islam, Confucianism, Hinduism, Geniism, and Taoism. To put it in another way, Cao Daism is a perfect synthesis of the world’s most powerful religions. In the early 1920s, Cao Daism was established in southern Vietnam but it had not been officially codifieduntil 1926. In Vietnamese language, Cao Dai means “the high tower”. The philosophy of a Cao Daism practitioner is to perform faithfully to his self, his family, society and the world at large. Nowadays, the headquarters of Cao Daism is located in the city of Tay Ninh, Vietnam. This is not only a holy temple but also a spectacular construction that attracts tourists from many places around the country and the world.
As the main cathedral of the religion, the Cao Dai Great Temple stands vividly today in Hoa Thanh District, 5km southeast of Tay Ninh City. The construction of the temple started in 1933, but it was not completed until 1955. The temple spreads over an area of 5600 m2 with a length of 140m and a width of 40m. It consists of 4 towers which are named differently as Tam Dai, Hiep Thien Dai, Cuu Trung Dai and Bat Quai Dai. Even though both the interior and the exterior are decorated colorfully, a holy and sacred atmosphere still reigns all over the temple. Walking inside this great site, tourists can find a colonnaded hall and a huge sanctuary. Everywhere, the columns are decorated with dragon symbols and painted in white, red, pink and blue paint. The dome in the main hall is divided into 9 parts which symbolize heaven. This is actually the painting of a starry night. The dome is located above a huge blue globe, on which the Divine Eye, the official symbol of Cao Daism, is painted.
